Nine graduating students of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu are to receive first class degrees during the convocation of the University.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr Prof Christian Anieke announced this yesterday in Enugu during a News Briefing on the 4th Convocation of the university.
The news briefing was part of the programmes lined up for the 4th convocation of the University.
The Vice Chancellor explained that students of the university were being trained to acquire skills that would make them self-reliant on graduation.
Professor Anieke said that former students of the university were setting the pace in their various areas of further studies in tertiary institutions abroad.
He announced that over 15 former and present students of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu have benefited from scholarship awards by the university.
The management also plans to give out more awards to deserving students.
The Vice Chancellor said that each of the geopolitical zones in the northern part of the country benefited from the scholarship award.
He further appealed to the government to extend Tertiary Education Fund to private universities.
